This is a well-needed safety monitoring device to observe both individuals and multiple subjects' body temperature. In intense moments of facing overwhelming blasts of fire and heat, the H.O.T. system will help us know when a member of the crew is dangerously overheating can get that person's body temperature at a healthy level. How it Works The H.O.T. System works as an on body heat monitoring device through the use of 3 components: sensor, rf tag, PDA and software. These units work to send wireless temperature data to the individual monitoring temperatures. Alert System When a subject's body temperature trends above-normal (102.5 degrees), an audible alert and flashing screen is activated to warn the observer that the highlighted firefighter is in the danger zone of possible heat stroke. Sensor Device The sensor component is set on the inside of a custom designed head band against the temporal artery and measures the subjects temperature. Radio Frequency Identification Tag The temperature data is collected by the RF Tag and send directly to a ruggedized PDA. PDA and Software The ruggedized PDA contains proprietary software that provides the monitor with real time temperature and will send off an audible alert when the subject is trending at an above-normal temperature without cooling off. Reports Data can be extracted from the database via a cradle that is connected to your PC. Information is time-stamped as to the subject's temperature at any given period during monitoring.
